Home to a family of four for 15 years, this bungalow in Leaside needed expansion. The renovation primarily involves adding a second floor addition, doubling the living space from 600 to 1,200 square feet, and taking it from a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom residence to a 3½ bedroom and 2½ bathroom home. The homeowners wanted the new design to blend seamlessly with the home's original 1940s style. The main floor is divided into 4 main rooms, a strategy that is unique in the popularity of today's open-concept approach. The result is a compact, efficient layout with each space having its own unique purpose and feel. Windows were enlarged and new windows added where possible making the home very bright. All bricks removed from the ground floor will be reused on the new upper floor of this sweet, well-crafted renovation.
