“In the energy efficiency sector, things are constantly evolving. I love being on the forefront of that: leading the industry instead of catching up.”
Josef started out as a carpenter. He trained at St. Lawrence College and worked on residential construction across Ontario and in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley before feeling the call to challenge himself with something new. He then enrolled in the Architectural Technology program at George Brown College. In his early career, Josef worked with an energy auditing company conducting EnergyStar and LEED certification tests for residential buildings.
At Solares, Josef combines his design skills and thorough knowledge of residential construction with his passion for cutting-edge building science. “Every project brings new challenges, new opportunities, new products,” he says. “We’re constantly learning.”
