“What excites me is helping people realize their dream of a perfect home. It’s very satisfying to have a client write to me to say: ‘we’re so happy’.”
At the age of six, walking down the street with her mother, Lilia announced that she would build a house with two entry doors, one for each of them. “And I went from there,” she says, headlong into custom residential architecture.
Lilia chose Ryerson for her Bachelor of Architectural Science because of the school’s unique combination of practice and theory. She then set about gaining hands-on experience: before joining Solares in 2014, Lilia worked with an interior design firm, and then with a builder in Oakville managing projects under construction.
At Solares, Lilia brings a Zen-like calm to complex projects. During the design process, she ensures that decisions are tailored to her clients’ specific family needs. Before construction is underway, she capably navigates everything from cutting edge building science to the nuances of municipal permitting.
